High School Tutoring

I teach one on one, ensuring that students learn the most efficient method. Students are constantly being assessed as to their progress and always being challenged. We want our students to be ahead of the game, not trying to catch up. As a private tutor of English and History, I know the advantage of a third party to help with the learning process. Students learn quickly, retain more, and learn ahead of their peers ensuring their learning success.

Literature, Reading, and Writing

Literature can be difficult for students to learn. Reading and writing are fundamental processes that students need to be able to master. Unfortunately, students need hands on experience with reading and writing to be successful. High school demands that students master literature such as The Odyssey, Romeo and Juliet, and How to Kill a Mockingbird. These classics are hard for adults and especially for students and sometimes they need a helping hand in the thought process in breaking down these classics and how to write their own ideas on these works.

I am experienced in writing, grammar, and reading literature. I have read many classics and as a History major am experienced in writing analytical papers. I help students learn the writing process that they need to know for the AIMS, SAT, and ACT. These tests will determine what kind of future students will have in their later education and need to be taken seriously. The writing process is like your favorite jeans; the more it is used the better it gets with time. Students need to learn the basic writing skills that a tutor can teach them so that they can write intelligently at all times. I am able to provide a quiet environment where students are able to work their process out and to enhance their writing skills.

Tutoring allows them to use their ideas with minimal supervision and still rely on a teacher to help them with their writing.
